Summer Indoor
The Apex Volleyball Club is proud to announce our first indoor summer camps!
With a variety of different camps geared towards different ages and abilities, our developmentally appropriate programs and activities will led by club president Ken Li. Ken, who is a fully certified NCCP Advanced Development coach with a degree in Human Kinetics (Physical Education), is a secondary school teacher in Vancouver and has been coaching since 1998 in the high school, club, provincial stream, and post-secondary systems.
With a mixture of skill development and modified games, campers can expect to receive instruction on physical literacy,
tactical knowledge, and team play. Each camper will work with the coaching staff towards achieving individual goals,
preparing for the fall school season and eventual indoor club season. Campers all receive an Apex t-shirt as well!
Below are descriptions of each offering. The age descriptors are guidelines and not requirements. If you have any questions, please direct them to Ken (ken@apexvolleyball), who will be more than happy to help you find the camp that suits your abilities and goals best!

FUNdamentals (ages 9-12 and 13-16)
The overall goal of our FUNdamentals program comes straight from Volleyball Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, with fun and participation at the forefront. While developing fundamental movement skills in volleyball, the objective is to provide a safe, inclusive, and fun environment to grow a love for the sport. The target athlete should be ones starting to learn the game (have participated in 1 or less club seasons) or wanting to gain more repetitions on fundamental skills.
Advanced (ages 12-14 and 14-16)
Advanced (ages 12-14) is geared towards 12-13U club players, and 14U B Team club athletes. Advanced (ages 14-16) is geared towards 14U A Team club players, 15-16U club players, and members of grade 8-10 high school teams who don’t have much club experience. Athletes should have prior experience performing volleyball skills as we aim to refine those skills and making our movements more efficient to perform at the next level.
Elite (ages 15-17)
The Elite camp is for higher level club and high school players who want to push themselves in a more competitive environment towards competition at the next level. Players will work on both general and position-specific skills, incorporating them into game-play situations.
Setters Camp (ages 14-17)
As the primary distributors for attackers, setters are undoubtedly the most essential positional players in the game. We will equip athletes with concepts to fill their toolbox of setting skills. Starting with questions like “how do I set?” and progressing to “where or who do I set?” and “when do I set this?”, we expect to see setter IQs improve alongside their physical skills. This program is open to all high school-aged athletes who are setters or who want to be setters.
